slackware on cryptLUKS vg
 

Hi,

I followed how-to at http://slackblogs.blogspot.com and the instructions from the slackware README_CRYPT.TXT ( running the updatred commands as posted on AlienBOB's blog ). However, for some reason I am not able to chroot into the installed environment or build a proper init image.

I do not have a smp version of 2.6.29.6 in my /lib/ directory, only the non smp generic. I am also installing the x64 release of slackware 13. I could use some help in the following areas:

1. Deciding on the crpt type ( aes, blowfish, etc )
2. Putting key to a usb stick which can be removed after initial boot
3. audit of tyhe commands i used to build / install slackware in order to find out where i went wrong.
4. understanding whether or not partitions inside a vg can still have all the ext4 mount options to function ( noexec nouid, etc ).

I have researched and am still missing something. Thanks in advance for any helpo.

About first one: I just talked about crypto algorithms and AES is the strongest one but other algorithms coming from AES contest are strong as well.
