Slackware network install via a crossover, is this possible?

This is the basic spec of the lappy I wish to install slack onto.

Model=Compaq e500
800 mhz
128mb Ram
No CD/DVD drives
Floppy drive
Lan
Modem

Is it possible to install a version of slack on this machine via network on a crossover cable (I do not have hubs in this place ) The machine I am currently using already has Slack10.2 on it running perfectly and was installed via CDs.

Please also note that i'm still unfortunatly a 56k user. So an ftp install with KDE probably isn't a good idea.

Any help appreciated.

Xel'naga666.

Why not?
A cross-over cable does the job of a hub (or maybe more accurately, a hub crosses the wires to each of its inputs). So I guess you might even go as far to say a crossover cable is a hub.

Thanks for the reply, sounds like im good to go then. So uh, how?

I have tried googling for slackware network installation tutorials and I never seem to find the goods. Can you or anyone else point me in the right direction?

Thanks
