Slackware mouse, lilo help

I had been using Mandrake for long time and decided to give Slackware 9 a try. The whole installation went smooth. On the bootloader section it didn't install saying some error message. I tried to install in MBR and first sector of linux partition both gave the same error. I did not mind it and went ahead and booted with the cd. The startup was fast and the mouse was working in the console. After I did 'startx' the KDE started. The mouse cursor was visible but when i moved the mouse it went to the top edge of the screen very fast and disappeared. Now the mouse worked fine in the console. I have the following system configuration:

Celeron 266
128mb ram
10gb HDD
Nvidia Geforce 2 MX 400
Logitech 3 Button Serial Mouse.
Creative Vibra ISA Soundcard(SoundBlaster)

I want to know how can i make my system bootable, by installing the lilo bootloader as it isn't getting installed.
Secondly i would like to know how to rectify my mouse problem.
Lastly will my soundcard work in slackware, if yes do i need to configure anything like I have to do sndconfig in red hat and mandrake.
I know that slackware is very tough(not that user friendly) still I want to learn so kindly help me, also I am a nOObie in Linux so kindly help me with the commands to be typed for fixing my problem.

Thanks

You gotta be more specific with the errors... it will really help us to help you.

Anyway, your KDE did not start properly is probably due to the fact that you haven't ran xf86config to configure your XFree yet.

edit the fil '/etc/inittab' with a text editor - there's a bit where you can choose 4 rather than three. also, if you're using kde you will probably want to change you login manager (gdm as default) to kdm so you can switch off the pc without logging out as a user.
