To use: i. To get Chinese fonts and Input method platform, install one of the 6 half-Chinese txzes to the applicable Slackware Live system. Available selection: (fcitx/scim/yong input method platforms) and (64/32 bit). ii. To get Chinese fonts, Input method platform and Chinese desktop, install one of the 12 Chinese txzed to the applicable Slackware Live system. I have a functional fcitx going on Slackware64-current and don't want to mess it up, but your efforts are quite welcome. The instructions and dependencies for installing fcitx have been far from simple. I will try out your installers sometime soon. 谢谢!

Thank you.
My 12-year old son is learning chinese online with rocket languages app, because, unfortunately, Chinese is not offered in most middle schools (or high schools for that matter.) Foreign langauge options at most American schools are far too limited, preserving America's insularity and its unfavorable consequence of egotism, by creating an attitude that foreigners should learn English, and not the other way around. French, German, and Spanish are usually the only options, and at many schools its only Spanish. So installing Chinese fonts onto my son's pinebook will be easier thanks to your contribution, though I will have to build for armv8. I myself believe that if we wanted peace, we would offer more Arabic, Farsi, Russian, etc in our schools, starting at preschool, because the younger the better the ear can hear and train the toungue to propper pronounciation. The fact that we don't is a pretty clear indicator that peace must not be part of the American agenda: in all the years we've had conflict in the middle east, and with all the money spent on arming ourselves and our allies, we could have trained legions of interpreters... but when our troops are abroad, so few North Americans speak Arabic, that we have to vet interpreters from the local populace where the conflict is. Clearly, clear communication is not on our troops agenda. Why? Sorry to rant. Thanks for the Chinese fonts. |

I have not too much trouble reading Chinese because reading doesnt require ear training but there are some sounds (jiang/zhang for instance) that I cant distinguish and the "tones" i cant hear well at all. |
