Slackware Linux Shutdown
I have slackware 10.2 installed and working just fine, my only problem I am having is that it will not shutdown properly when I try a -h now or -h 10 or whatever I use to shutdown the OS. I get to the POWER DOWN phase then it stalls. I have tryed 2 computers at home and same situation.

You did not mention what kernel you're using -- if you are using 2.4.31, go into /etc/rc.d/rc.modules, uncomment
#/sbin/modprobe apm
and reboot.
That seems to work with most 2.4.31 machines (laptop or desktop).

Wait.... aren't you supposed to switch the power off manually when it says power down?

Nope, it should shut itself off -- that's what APM (old) and ACPI are for, power management (presupposing that the thing is not so old that it can't, that is).
When you "init 0" it should shut off.
