I have the same problem with one banking site. I wanted to order new checks and FF was dead in the water on this one. I have the latest Opera browser, so I tried it. Worked just fine in -current. I use openjre from AlienBob - not the slackbulid from extra. Don't know why and I don't want to figure it out. Opera will work so FF may be going by the wayside.

Issue solved

I'm now marking this issue as solved after installing Slackware64 14.1 and some configuring:

Slackware64 14.1 (fresh install)
Java64 1.7.0_45 (from java.com)
Firefox64 25.0.1 (from Mozilla, not Slackware)

I also had to do the following commands (my banking didn't work just by installing Slackware64 14.1):

# mkdir -p /etc/.java/.systemPrefs
# chmod -R 755 /etc/.java/

Now my internet banking is working again.

Phew!

Compass.
