hey ,
I got more info
LazyDragon is a Slackware/linux-live-scripts based distro
with Xgl (testing , + in .tgz form - there is a Xgl-combo package
in '/root/Xgl/xgl' that way if you dont like LazyDragon you can
take the Xgl packages to your own slackware based distro. )
To start Xgl in LazyDragon for NVIDIA cards
enter 'nvinstall' to setup the new Nvidia-8758-Drivers(2.6.16)
and then execute the 'install.sh' script in the '/root/Xgl' folder.
After that you're ready to execute either the 'startgnomexgl.sh'
script or the 'startkdexgl.sh' script.
REMEMBER TO ADD A DISPLAY NUMBER AFTER.
e.g bash% sh startgnomexgl.sh 1
or
bash% ./startgnomexgl.sh 1
(It also includes an NVIDIA_8758-1lzy.tgz package that doesn't
f'up direct rendering when you type 'ldconfig'. the 'nvinstall'
command will install that package and update your xorg.conf ready.)
LazyDragon has got lots of games like
Scorched3d , stepmania , ppracer , unreal2004-online demo ,
warsow , tux-puck (this game rules , hats off to anyone who can defeat tux) , NeverGames ,Duke3d ,wormux , foobillards, GLtron
, ArmagetronaD (testing) , moon-lander +
It was originally designed (LazyDragon) for professional audio and
video production , so it keeps up to date with the most recent
Cinelerra builds and also includes
Linux video editing system LIVES
Linux multi-media system LMMS
RoseGarden .
VLC8.5 , MPLayer ,xine , helix player , totem ,kaffeine
Lots of Video-encoding utilities .
And most importantly , a nice bootsplash
(Dropline Gnome 2.12.3, KDE3,5,2 ,Enlightenment DR17 .)
(Xgl is an added extra , still in testing. if you just wanna play
games , use Xorg as it is the only way to get direct-rendering and doesnt suffer from the bugs of Xgl and compiz. plus the 3d button by the clock in gnome will only work in Xorg as it requires direct-rendering.)
