problem solved
how? well, i got a 2.6.24.2 kernel, and compiled it with fair group scheduling? why this kernel? well, i read some changelogs, and found out that the older kernels had some problems, including an infinite loop on a mm algorithm. so i got the above mentioned kernel, compiled it with fair group scheduling, and it worked
i put the cpu under very heavy load(compile kernel, play game, trackerd, amsn and amarok) and it just didn't slow down at all. before, it would slow down in less than 4 minutes under this load. i have the old kernel here, and it's still slowing down under some load.
so, by now, everything's SEEMS to be fine.
