Too many negative replies & threads on this forum as to Slackware creation and continued usefulness. One such; Is Slackware dying?

I have been a Slackware user since PV's first release and will continue use of it.

For informed active users there is no doubt that Slackware will continue to be a active Gnu/Linux and the best UNIX-like system available. We as Slackware users have a great support team and informative fellow Slackware users willing to support the best Gnu/Linux.

Indeed! Slackware is undergoing extremely active development! The current branch has a new kernel today.

I am also a loyal user of Slackware; I started with version 10.0 in 2004. I love the elegant simplicity, security, and robustness of my favourite operating system. I am happy to wait for the release of Slackware 15.0. Slackware is alive and well.

How about changing the title to "Where to buy Slackware authorized and unauthorized merchandise" since that is what they are discussing in it now?

No wonder PV doesn't post much in the threads about Slackware's demise - such threads have been made since as far back as 2001. He probably just rolls his eyes every time a new one crops up. There are quite a lot, and I mean, quite a lot, on and on ad nauseam infinitum.

It don't think the "why did you stop using Slackware" thread was that helpful in retrospect, nor was quietguy47's inebriated trollbait. Things have been a little off here the last few weeks, onebuck, I concur. Some users have too much time on their hands [first cast out the beam out of thine own eye, I know].

Not in my mind. My own opinion and views as to the issues with points toward Slackware and it's viability as a useful active Gnu/Linux. Separate views and not relative. So I created the thread with that in mind.

I will not argue about my LQ member permissions here.
