Slackware guest on VMware. How to get poweroff scripts to work.

I have Slackware 14 running on a VMware server. The only part of vmware-tools I care about is getting the poweroff to work so when in the VSphere Client, I can click on "Power Off the Virtual Machine" and it will halt slackware prior to powering off the machine.

The VM settings for VM tools in VSphere is already set to:
Power Controls: Shutdown Guest

Run VMware Tools Scripts
[x] After power on
[x] After resuming
[x] Before suspending
[x] Before shutting down Guest

Currently when I click on "Power Off the Virtual Machine" It just shuts the VM off with no delay.

I installed the vmwaretools-9.0.5-1137270.tar.gz by unpacking it and running the vmware-install.pl. I also made an /etc/pam.d directory so I wouldn't get reported errors. There were no errors installing the tools.

The network script inside /etc/vmware-tools/scripts/vmware/ is broken. Remove it. Also make sure to clean /var/run so the tools can start up successfully.

Yes! That did it. It works fine now.
Thanks!
