Hi I have been trying for the last couple of days to download slackware 9 (the files, not the .iso) but it keeps failing after about 2/3's of way with a file error... Is there a fault with the ftp..?

Sounds like your ISP is kicking you off due to "non-useage." Then again, it could be that you are using a faulty mirror site. It's hard to say since it could even be something as simple as the drive you are downloading to is too full! I've never had problems downloading files or iso images, but then again I'm not on a dial-up system, am in a different part of the world than you (I think), and I know I have tons of space for downloaded files. I can't really say why you are having problems but at least there's a few things to consider. I hope it helps...

could you use an ftp program with a resume facilty?
I like D4X (downloader for X) and have succesfully completed downloading large files after logging on again.
