I found this maybe-pertinent block in the fedora's glibc.spec, but I haven't tried applying to glibc.SlackBuild yet...
Code:

# Rebuild libpthread.a using --whole-archive to ensure all of libpthread
# is included in a static link. This prevents any problems when linking
# statically, using parts of libpthread, and other necessary parts not
# being included. Upstream has decided that this is the wrong approach to
# this problem and that the full set of dependencies should be resolved
# such that static linking works and produces the most minimally sized
# static application possible.

for findutils the 2 links are applicable to findutils-4.6.0:
https://src.fedoraproject.org/cgit/r...b-fflush.patch
https://src.fedoraproject.org/cgit/r...-makedev.patch

for findutils-4.4.2, I've done this patch trying to see what's applicable to that version: it compiles

the 3 patches for m4, findutils and gzip allows me to build the tools. I'll see where it will crash in the SFS building (see in the github project what is needed).

configure: error: pthread not found ?
this is strange, you should have it from your new glibc package?
