the message occurs also on x86 but doesn't cause the segfault just after "upgradepkg --install-new glibc-2.26-x86_64-3.txz"
It doesn't install the other glibc packages.
There's something new in that glibc (v3), that didn't happened previously?

Finally found what's wrong:
- glibc-2.26 v3 with the the new patch:
----------------
# This patch adds "x86_64" to x86-64 dl_hwcap so that ld.so will always
# search the "x86_64" subdirectory when loading a shared library.
zcat $CWD/glibc.BZ22093.HWCAP.diff.gz | patch -p1 --verbose || exit 1
----------------
If I build with glibc-2.26 v2, it works.
I will have to build glibc-2.26 twice or find a trick?

solved the problem:
- modified only 'sfs-tools-current' script by adding the same patch as slackware-current for glibc-2.26 (v3)

Worked here. New problem though. Strip does not work.
I'll look into this tomorrow. Out of time today.

Thanks, Nobodino.

Found everything. Question: Why use bash-completion from 14.2 when
-current has its own under extra?

Nobodino,

Got your script running (list 1 only). It segfaults on me when it tries to build jadetex.

Also started getting seeing an error message from all of the SlackBuilds: (to the best of my memory)

"Cannot change owner to root:root. No such user."

Don't get the message if I exit the script and run the SlackBuilds indvidually. Seems to
be something in the script environment. I'll look into it tomm... oops today. After midnight
here. I need 40 winks or so.

jadetex.build is the one with patch:
- patch_tetex in the patches_generator script.

Got it. I saw it was there and assumed (cough, cough) that it was applying.
Forgot that tetex is in others now. Thanks.

Worsel:

I have been able to trim the build1_s.list of a 50% factor (from >200, to 94 packages to be built).
It hasn't the same functionality, but it boots cleanly and is not affected by the (grep '/tools/bin' *) bug.
Here is the enclosed list you can change manually and test it.

with FTBFSlog, SFS will become much easier.

Agreed.

Attached are the files for my latest attempt at building the tools directory.
Just another way of doing the job. Uses some of your ideas, Nobodino.

it's been writen by a real programer, which I'm not! I'll look at it and see if it can improve what I use.
Congrat.

Otherwise, I've made some progress on building with glibc-2.27, for the time being, I'm stuck on list3 with pulseaudio.
A lot of patches have been removed in current, but some new with glibc-2.27.
