Slackware Essentials book - any new edition coming?

I have a much beloved copy of the Slackware Essentials book, 2nd edition. I was curious if anyone knew whether or not there were any plans to release an updated edition of the book or should I stop holding my breath? :-)

From what I hear, not likely. Most everything is going web-based, at the SlackWiki or SlackDocs. See here.

It all depends on how up-to-date the documentation is actually. Patrick will eventually and probably update the book, but only if it's absolutely necessary to publish a new copy.

It's Alan Hicks who's responsible for the new edition. Not Pat.

And no, it doesn't look like a new edition is coming out. The WiP is here though: http://slackbook.org/beta/

We've all been waiting forever. Alan once promised that the third edition would be released before Duke Nukem Forever.

My Slackware-based Linux book is a work in progress. I had to take a break until the end of my Linux training, early June or so. But then this summer will be devoted to finishing it. It's in French, but hey, nobody's perfect. You can take a peek at the manuscript, but please don't cannibalize it.

Greetings Alan,

You implored us in an earlier thread to kick your butt if the book was delayed.
Get to work! Please.

Chewing your backside
gloves off

When it is finished I will be happy to buy it in the Slackware shop."

More chewing for the book.

Greet.
