I have just installed Slackware 8.1. I configured my network card gateway with the IP of my router. But i couldnt connect to internet. So i thought that maybe slackware is "closed" so i decided to do:
#iptables -A INPUT -s (router IP) -p tcp -j ACCEPT
but i didnt works neither

Somene how could help me?

What does your rc.inet1 file look like?

Path: /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1

Oh ya have you added your isp's dns to resolve.conf?

just a suggestion, dissable the iptables script first, try to connect to the internet, if it doesn't work, check to see if your system has initialized the ethernet card, then like
flashingcurser said post your rc.inet1 file here, this way we can help you a little bit better.

Good luck
