The old board was overthrown by trolls. It was out of hand. But it was a great board -- most of the people on there were the ones who made and still make bug reports to Pat.. Although this board is not flooded with trolls, I think some questions should be locked and answered with a straight, RTFM or Google it DAMNIT. ( Thats just my opinion ). Stuff like "How to make LILO boot Linux" can be answered with simple searches on Google, or "How hard is the new Slack to install and run"? Just as hard as it was last time!.. or "Black screen when try startx".. these are pretty basic.. I know when I started I wrote down my error messages by hand, and pasted them into Google.. the MAJORITY of the time I found the answer to my question, or atleast had a better understanding of how it worked to help me through it. If you want someone to hold your hand through Linux, then don't start with Slackware. Sorry this has turned into a rant, I couldn't help it.

I understand that http://www.userlocal.com /phorum contains _all _

FWIW here's my opinion. I wouldn't say we are the official Slackware forum (although I am working on it) but the officially recommended one. From the Slack site, "This site runs our favorite Slackware questions forum".
