slackware as router


i want to make the slackware installed PC to work as router i.e i want to run the routong protocols( like rip, ospf) to run in the slackware installed PC. i've tried with quagga but not working. pls suggest something if it is possible. thank you.

In /etc/rc.d/rc.inet2 you will find these commented-out lines:

# # Start the network routing daemon:
# if [ -x /usr/sbin/routed ]; then
#   echo "Starting network routing daemon:  /usr/sbin/routed"
#   /usr/sbin/routed -g -s
# fi
If you un-comment these, you will have the route daemon running on boot and I think that is what you want.

the mentioned lines are already disabled. the problem is if i want to run zebra or any other thing it is showing" privs_init: could not lookup user quagga." i'm not understanding wt is the problem.

To run quagga/zebra I think you must have a user named quagga.
