Slackware and Adaptec APA-358 mini-SCSI EPP adapter cable

Hello!

I own quite old laptop and old Amistore CD-drive connected with Adaptec APA-358 mini-SCSI EPP adapter cable to parallel port. I try to install Slackware 9.1 into this old junk and make couple of boot and root disks: adaptec.s, install.1 and install.2

I boot machine with those disks and get into SETUP but problem is I cannot get this CD-drive to work. Slackware wont recognize it. I also tested several other scsi boot disks but result is same...

Any ideas?
