Slackware 9 and KVM switch

Hello guys,

I have two machines one with Windows XP and the second one Slackware 9 and both machines are connected to KVM switch one monitor, keyboard and mouse.

I'm having problem with Slackware where during the install I can use the keyboard and mouse just fine, but when I reboot the system for first time use, nothing is displayed on the monitor at all nor the keyboard and mouse are usable. Can any one help me in finding a solution for this problem.

Cheers,

Fido

Have you tried hooking up the monitor, keyboard and mouse directly to the computer?

Which KVM are you using? What type -- connected to AC or self-powered?

This sounds really strange... : I have a 2-systems Belkin KVM, and I use it daily for a Windows 98 PC and a Slackware 9 'puter and I have had exactly zero problems... ?

I'm using switchview selfpower kvm switched. I've installed redhat 9 and it worked find and the same when i installed solaris 9.

Thanks,

Fido

Sorry to say that but 90% of self-powered KVM are big, steaming piles of sh__. :(

You should try to connect you keryboard/mouse/monitor straight to the computer, as somebody else has said in this thread.

Also, if you have USB peripherals (keyborad/mouse), make sure these are already configured before restarting your computer...

Sorry if this is not very helpful...
