Slackware 8.1 Hardware Compatablity List
 

As the Subject of my thread indicates, I'm looking for a complete (or as close to complete as possible) Slackware 8.1 Hardware Compatability List. You see, I'm building a computer and I would like to make sure that all the components will work with Slackware. Thanks,

Slack 8.1 used the 2.4.18 kernel. So any hardware support provided for that kernel would be supported under Slack 8.1. However, kernel upgrading is also fairly easy in Slack so you could consider even 2.4.20 kernel support as supported in Slack 8.1.

Most all hardware that would Pentium III based I would consider to be supported. The newer P4 based euipment is where you would want to be most concerned. I do not know about AMD equipment so I am unable to provide any guidelines.

What are the odds/how can I check, if that's Linux/Slackware Compatible?

AMD cpus are fully supported, and (of course), the IA-64 too.
