Hi all.
I am trying to play the game Maelstrom in slack 8.1 . I have played it successfully in both mandrake and in debian. The application will launch, then when I go to play it, the error message that I get when launching it fron say rxvt is "Timed out waiting for frame 0" which keeps repeating over and over in the terminal window. The only way to stop it is to kill the application, and hit control+z .
This happens when not in X as well...root or user. I have tried to make this work with: 3 different video cards, three different xf86 servers, changing statements in XF86Config, and SVGAlib. I should also add that I have tried the latest source tarball, slackpacks and even rpm2tgz. All of which are a no go. Maelstrom and all of its dependencies (SDLlib & SDL_net) will build without any errors, but clearly the program wont work! (miserable) ...at least in slackware. I would appreciate any help on this matter as I am fit to be tied, and have tried even more than I indicated in the hopes of resolving this issue.
