Upgrade went without a hitch. Thanks Pat and team. So far not even a hint of a problem.

I don't know, can this alpha be upgraded to the final full version when the time comes?

So the -current .iso here is the alpha then?

https://slackware.uk/people/alien-cu...4-current-iso/

And this will just eventually 'turn into' the 15.0 full version, after which one changes the mirror?

I think it has always been like that. And if you have current installed right now, you can just do the regular update. Not much of a difference. If 15.0 comes out, I will most certainly not reinstall, but change release in the mirrors and run update.

It is the underlying theme of the first movie with a few scenes that stick to memory because they are clearly in violation of physics. xD

A quick YT search revealed nothing, but maybe this helps: https://wikiraider.com/index.php/Planetary_Alignment

Well, on my sub £400 laptop with crappy 5200rpm spinning rust, it took approx one and a half episodes of Buffy. So, about an hour.

upgradepkg is painfully slow (but still not as annoying as windows update!).

If EOL for 5.10 kernel won't go beyond 2022 I will stay with -current.

Phoronix.com : Slackware 15.0 On Approach With An Early Alpha Build Available

Looks like this gentleman reads our ChangeLog in a daily base - and apparently often than some proud Slackers who are casually bitten by the updates from -current...
