Slackware 14.2 install doesn't read all of source ISO DVD

I am in the process of installing 14.2 by using the install ISO DVD. I just downloaded the install ISO and the source ISO and burned them to new DVDs. I checked the MD5s for each ISO and they were correct.

When I am in the installer and at the Select stage, I have the following problem. In the previous step, I tell the installer that the source is a DVD. It finds the DVD. Then the Select screen just gives me option [A], which is just the basic kernel and utilities. There are no other options available, such as [ap] or [KDE], for example. I've tried the install two more times and the same thing keeps happening. Can I install the base kernel and then boot Slackware and install everything from the source DVD after booting up? (I planned on a doing a full install of all packages, I have the space)

It almost sounds like you have slackware-14.2-install-d1.iso instead of the slackware-14.2-install-dvd.iso that you should have.
I install from the dvd.iso all the time and have not problems like you describe.

I'd rather assume that the OP has inserted the source DVD, wrongly assuming that it was needed at this step.

@deretsigernu: you do not need the source DVD for installation, all packages to be installed are included in the installation DVD.

The source DVD is only useful in case you need to recompile some software, which you of course do not before installation.

Didier Spaier,

You hit the nail on the head. I got the install to work fine once I followed your advice. Merci beaucoup.
