Slackware 14.2 boot hangs sometime...needs power button shut down

Hi,

I am using slackware 14.2 64 bit on my laptop with following specifications-
Make-HP pro book
Processor-Intel i5
RAM-4GB
Hard difk-500GB

Some times one out of 5 times slackware boot hangs into black blank screen before login prompt. I have already taken following actions but no use--
1. I have updated my slackware using slackpkg [from kernel 4.4.14 to 4.14.88]
2. disabled xdm..now default level 3 boot up
3. Install acpi tool, intel micro code using slackbuild
4. Searched log files but no useful information
5. Done search on web but no useful solution

I really liked slackware but it seems my laptop is not allowing...Please help me....

The logs reveal important information as to what worked. How far you got can be checked in /etc/rc.d/rc.M, and you can run each command to see whar causes issues. If you can't get in, use an install dvd, and check them (/var/log/messages) If it looks identical it's something in rc.local.
