Is www.slackware.com down?
|
Is any mirror available?
My KTorrent reads: 'Could not connect to host slackware.com: Socket operation timed out.' Or is that just me? |
Maybe overwhelmed by people wanting to download the new release. As always, nothing to worry about, use one of the alternate mirrors or the torrents. At least the 32 bit DVD is already on LinuxTracker: http://linuxtracker.org/
Also already seeding, although my connection is not that fast. |
I was able to find the 32-bit torrents at isohunt.com

I copied the torrent files here http://butler.cc.tut.fi/~kaukasoi/torrents/.
(And the iso files are here ftp://elektroni.phys.tut.fi/slackware-14.0-iso/ and here ftp://elektroni.phys.tut.fi/slackware64-14.0-iso/). |
I am seeding the 64-bit DVD, and I'll do so tomorrow as well.

http://linuxtracker.org/ works decent so far.
'slackware 14 0 install dvd iso' is on the top and got 20 seeders as we speak. |

slackware.com is dead from here. The torrent download is steady at over 300KiB/s and I can see over 500 seeders. Thanks to all the seeders as well. |

By the way, does anyone have MD5 hashes of the official ISOs? I'm wanting to ensure that the 32-bit image from linuxtracker.org was "official."
[edit] Ahh, disregard. I just downloaded the MD5 file from off of the "official" torrent copied to Petri's server and it matched the linuxtracker.org ISO image perfectly. |
