And with this batch of updates and fixes (clearing the rest of the
important stuff from the TODO list), we have arrived at Slackware 14.1
release candidate 1!
Looks like I picked a good time to update my -current boxes!

Still uploading. I'll ping here when it's done on ftp.osuosl.org.

Great! Now waiting for Alien Bob's iso image. Several months without Slackware, first time in 7 years. It's time to go back "home". :)

Just finished installing the --current update now. I told the girl (name escapes me) over at the Slackware Store a while back that this release is looking like the best in years, and I'm even more convinced of that now!

I did, however, find one minor bug when my ntp.conf got over-written again: the default is still calling
Quote:

server pool.ntp.org iburst
There has been a new command for a few years now specifically for pool servers called, appropriately, "pool". :) The main effect is to automagically call up to 4 servers from the round-robin. Thus, the correct command would be
Quote:

pool pool.ntp.org iburst
or, as it appears in my computer,
Quote:

pool us.pool.ntp.org iburst
Otherwise, waiting with baited breath for the release! :)

It's going to be a nice release, I'm quite happy with all the new stuff added/upgraded... :)

Upgrade went smooth. No hiccups perceived so far. Thanks for adding tmux!

Very impressive update! I know what I'm going to do after work. :)

Even though the ChangeLog says that everything's frozen, I have a tiny request: could Mercurial be updated to the latest version (2.7.2)? Version in -current (2.2.2) is quite old now, also I've been actively using newest versions at work and haven't bumped into any problems. Oh, and it feels a bit unfair that Git got its share of updates, while Mercurial was left neglected, sitting in a corner all alone. :)

If it's too late, well, I guess I can only blame myself for not asking this earlier.

Anyway, thanks for all the hard work.
