Slackware 14.1 & Xenserver 6.2.0

I recently downloaded XenServer 6.2.0 and gave it a try -- I was extremely familiar with VMware ESX/ESXi/Workstation and had no issues installing Slackware 14.0 32-bit & 64-bit to a VM. These both failed with segmentation faults -- now is there something in the kernel config that can be modified that support an installation under XenServer 6.2.0

As an aside XenServer 6.2.0 is the first edition to be released as open source.

Is there something that can be done for for Slackware 14.1 kernel a la config that will make it compatible with Slackware 14.1 (both 32-bit & 64-bit) to XenServer 6.2.0 ?

My virgin posting tothis site

I am a long term user & believer of slackware since version 3.0

Best Regards

I did a bit of searching via google to see if other people encountered something similar.

I found a link from an individual who specified that one had to specify huge.s on the kernel options. I gave it a try and the segmentation faults went away. I was able to install Slackware 14.0 64-bit as a guest OS.

Next step is to see whether I can install xentools with no issues.

Best Regards

Please ignore my previous post, I had accidentally put in a slackware 13.37 dvd in instead.

Just an update:

slackware 13.37 64-bit installs fine on XenServer 6.2.0

slackware 14.0 64-bit & 32-bit do NOT install at all on XenServer 6.2.0 -- they do a segmentation fault on initial boot of the cdrom

slackware 14.1 RC3 64-bit (ISO image from AlienBOB dated 03-Nov-2013 20:25) installs fine on XenServer 6.2.0

I gather there is a kernel option for the initial release of Slackware 14.0 that is incompatible with XenServer.

I still have XenServer tools to figure out w.r.t. these versions of Slackware.

Best Regards

I'm running Slackware 14.1 32bit on XenServer 6.2.0, but unfortunately the install script of XenServer Tools doesn't recognise Slackware.
Did you managed to install XenServer tools on Slackware? If yes, can you help me, please?
