Unhappy Slackware 13 - KDE 4.3.3 with Kernel 2.6.31.5 - DBus and HAL

Hello.

I don't speak English very well.
I have Slack 13 - KDE 4.3.3 with Kernel 2.6.31.5.
I have problem with my DBus and HAL.

I compiled a new version of Dbus. Everything works perfectly.
When I start KDE. I saw this message in Console:

Quote:
Is Hal running? Failed with error: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoServer: Failed to connect to socket /usr/var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: Connection refused
Will try again to connect to HAL in 30 seconds.
After few minutes. My KDE can not open any program.
I need to restart my KDE.

I don't know what is happening...

Slackware 13.0 comes with kde 4.2.4 and 2.6.29.6 kernel, so you must have upgraded those on your own.

Re dbus, you did it wrong. Apparently you forgot to pass --localstatedir=/var to configure, but that leads to two more questions:
1) why don't you use the build script from Slackware's sources for dbus?
2) why did you feel the need to upgrade dbus anyway?

Thumbs up Slackware 13 - KDE 4.3.3 with Kernel 2.6.31.5 - DBus and HAL

Thank you!

Yes. I compiled Kernel 2.6.31.5 and upgrade my KDE 4.3.3 with txz.

1) why don't you use the build script from Slackware's sources for dbus?

I have problem with my X. I start X, it disables my mouse and keyboard.
This happened after I installed dbus. I received this message:

Quote:
(**) ModulePath set to "/usr/lib/xorg/modules"
(WW) AllowEmptyInput is on, devices using drivers 'kbd', 'mouse' or 'vmmouse' will be disabled.
(WW) Disabling Mouse0
(WW) Disabling Keyboard0
then I edited xorg.conf and put this code:

Quote:
Section "ServerFlags"
Option "AllowEmptyInput" "off"
Option "AutoAddDevices" "off"
EndSection
my mouse and keyboard now works. I don't remember more. I guess was mono,
lMule, motif, wxWindows. I'm not sure. I was very busy with dbus during
two or three weeks, I forgot. I don't know now. But I needed upgrade my
dbus(1.3.0). I didn't find dbus on repository. I found 1.2.4. I promise
I'll talk to you later.

2) why did you feel the need to upgrade dbus anyway?
I promise I'll talk to you later. I don't remember
