Talking Slackware 13.37 and Virtual Box 4.1 / Virtual Box 4.012

Well, I am not sure if it is the DVD/ISO image which is causing this but I dowloaded it from http://iso.ukdw.ac.id/slackware/13.37/

Anyway, I was trying to research if anyone else was experiencing problems with the latest Slackware 13.37 and Virtual Box 4.1, I found a few people were. I then decided to downgrade back to Virtual Box 4.0.12 and still not luck booting off with this ISO image. I am now attempting to install the packages but have booted off an old reliable Slackware 13.1 ISO image.

Does anyone know how to perform the MD5 check in Windows 7 x64 bit?

Before asking, yes, I did download the expansion pack for Virtual Box 4.1 and 4.0.12. I am not sure which of these are the cause but will have to test this ISO image first.

Just thought I would share my 2 cents worth.

I'm just about to upgrade my (Windows) VirtualBox installation, so I'll let you know if I get any problems with Slackware as a guest.

I don't have a Slackware ISO lying around, but I successfully booted into my existing Slackware virtual machines.

Talking VirtualBox screen

Hi PWC101,

Thanks for the link to the md5 checksum, looks like the ISO image I have is 100% fine. Just still a problem with the DVD under my Virtual Box setup.

I eventually installed the whole Slackware 13.37 x86 DVD onto the Virtual Box booting of the Slackware 13.1 original DVD ISO and so here is what I encounter if trying to boot off either the Slackware 13.37 ISO or the actual installation. Not sure if you can read the text and possibly advise what might correct this problem? I feel I have to compile the Kernel and the last time I did that I hardly understood half the options presented.

Anyone got a breakdown of the important compilation options?

I have just tested on my VirtualBox and it's working fine here
It's a fresh installation from the same source (UKDW's server)
