There have been quite a few changes so we will have one more release
candidate: Slackware 13.37 RC 3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716.
Very close now! But we'll likely hold out for 2.6.37.6.
Currently, I'm having some difficulty connecting the Slackware's website so the new release might be forthcoming. After decades of new releases, who really cares, though? It's just another release of good ole' Slackware. TIA to everyone as it makes the lives of many of us simpler and more efficient.
Well, I managed to find a synchronized mirror for the latest April 13 update, dwdg.de, so I went ahead and updated all the computers. Since only the kernels were updated, we're likely very close to official release. Now, rest.
Well, I managed to find a synchronized mirror for the latest April 13 update, dwdg.de,
Is it just me, or is the number of mirrors decreasing? I use the dutch nluug mirror, and that's the only one still alive around here (although a few hours behind). I have a cron job rsyncing with nluug on a daily basis, so i have my own internal ftp server around,. but still: as slackware is so popular ( http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/2010mca.php : 2nd on favorite server distro ) you would expect some more (local) mirrors to be around...
I know the remaining uk ones are pretty useless: often out of date or inconsistent.
I pull from tds these days, it seems to refresh at midday uk time, which works out quite well for me.
The '.edu' sites could be on spring break now. Maintenance is often done off hours during the breaks. I know as that would be the time for me to get things done on my machines and quick so my break could begin.
