Slackware 13.37/2.6.37.6-smp on VirtualBox kernel panic on Intel i3/i5/i7

Now I'm thinking this is a slackware problem. I'm not sure anymore.

Have you read this guide: http://alien.slackbook.org/dokuwiki/...kernelbuilding ?

It says:

"In case your kernel does not include the driver for your root filesystem, or a driver for your SATA bus, or other stuff that is only built as modules, your kernel will panic if it boots and can not access the necessary disks, partitions and/or files. Typically, this looks like"
Code:

VFS: Cannot open root device "802" or unknown-block (8,2)
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel Panic-not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown block(8,2)

You should create a initrd.gz (or whatever you name it) with mkinitrd.

The problem with that is the Slackware 13.37 DVD booting off of virtualbox will kernel panic. So you can't even install it.
Anyway I fixed it. It boots now.
