Slackware 13.1 firefox font problem

i would like to know if there is a fix for firefox font menus, also the font for bookmarks, the problem is that these fonts are too big , like 16 , instead of 10 or 12

i've had this problem with all linux distros that i've used, everything is fine except the menu and bookmark fonts in firefox, same in chrome, menu and bookmark fonts are big, anything i tried i could not make it look like the normal font sizes in windows or even Konqueror.
and it not that only that it is big fonts, they are also wide.
the info that i find in google doesnt help at all.

We'll first thing I always check is my font DPI. Windows uses 96 dpi so if you want your fonts to look like windows I would set it the same.

Can you post a screenshot I am curious to see what your fonts look like?

I updated my post with a picture, as you see the menu fonts are big and wide.

Have you tried changing settings in Preferences -> Content -> Fonts & Colors?

yes, the first thing i do i to change system settings and also the firefox fonts, but they dont affect the firefox menus and bookmarks at all, i have my whole slackware system with 8pt
it is just that firefox refuses to change below 16 pt.
also when i change the font sizes the webpages messes up , i have to leave it as: "let websites choose their own fonts"
i just want to be able to change the menu and bookmarks fonts without affecting the website fonts.

I always fix this problem, not only for Firefox but all GTK programs, by installing http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13...gtk-qt-engine/
It lets you configure fonts to use in GTK apps easily via system-settings. I use it together with http://kde-look.org/content/show.php...content=129715 and have a nice oxygen look in all GTK apps

Thanks, JackHair. gtk-qt-engine worked for me, too, without the gtk-oxygen-engine.

Yeah it works fine without gtk-oxygen-engine, I just use it to have a unified look across the desktop.
