Hmmm, if you say that occurs when running, then it looks like a hardware problem, like Alien Bob, TobySGD, davidsrsb, zrdc28 and hughetorrance said, check your memory with memtest86+ (because sometimes bad batch of memory modules just came out to the stores), check your hard drive and hardrive connectors (power, etc,) to see if they work without problems, also check your BIOS. Parted Magic has good tools to test your harddrives (they are useful for me ). Be patient.
Update from my memtest86+ v4.1 (tested 1 by 1, on diff slots)
1st 1gb module test on 1st slot (this remain on the board)
2nd 1gb module test on 2nd slot (found out this is faulty)
3rd 1gb module test on 3rd slot (this remain on the board)
4th 1gb module test on 4th slot (took out this module)
I found out 1 out of the 4 (1GB CORSAIR ram module was faulty)
I also ran hard disk test but it took too long as I have 2 IDE and 1 SATA and 1 new SATA. So I am skipping the hard disk test for now and remove all hard disk from the system.
I only put in the new 1TB SATA and install SLACKWARE 13.1 fresh on it with the 2 x 1GB tested ok ram module. Guess what? half way through the installation, it crashes AGAIN !!!
I am going to bring it back to the workshop and had them check on the motherboard and POWER SUPPLY UNIT this time around, as suggested by hughetorrance.
The installation crashes ... hmmmm ..... i remember that i had long time ago a problem similar like yours, but i found that a hard drive stopped spinning because the power supply cord made a false contact. I think that is better that you take it back to the workshop and ask them to check the motherboard and the powersupply.
I am currently had my PC running the burn in test (lucifer - from UBCD).
Today is Saturday, I will bring the PC in on Mon, so I will let the burn in run till Monday morning.

Manuel-H sorry to hear that you are having such trouble, unfortunately every now and again we all get something like this that defies our every effort... that is until somehow we get lucky and eventually find something, look on the bright side while using your other box and don,t get too discouraged,I have had problems that took months to resolve and in a few cases I never really found the answer but moved on anyway...
You have to look at it from a great distance and also look at it very close up,there is a solution and patience and persistence will eventually move you forward... lots a luck hugh
ps absolutely everyone on this forum has been where you are and muddled through somehow... its just your turn ! you will emerge stronger and wiser.
