slackware 12 and ipod with amarok


I need explications to use my ipod with amarok and slackware 12 , I have error msg: not mounted device but HAL detect my ipod... wtf , help me plz

I think amarok wants to find the ipod in /mnt/ipod.

I mount my ipod in /mnt/ipod with mount command and he don't work.

I think you have to unmount it first from whereever HAL mounted it? As far as I know, you can't mount the same partition multiple times, can you?

AFAIK you can mount partition to several places at once.

If you mount the partition to /mnt/ipod and then go to the Amarok's settings Media devices tab. Select autodetect and choose the Apple iPod from the list it gives.
Then click connect on the amarok and it should work.

It could be that you need to run amarok as root as the atleast my ipods file's are owned by root so I can't modify them with normal user account. Can't even change the permissions as it uses FAT fs.

If you're talking about device files, then you probably have to mess around with udev rules to let other users use the pod.
