did you install the ati driver then run 'aticonfig --initial'?
Also, have you enabled MSI_PCI (or vice-versa i can't remember) in your kernel?
Could you post the output of dmesg?

also run "LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose fglrxinfo" and look the error message for some additional info
I have aiglx turned on here (please, just for reference as i like compiz with videos running when on cube. this bloat may not work for you. !att: pci address (busid) are dif!. I had a lot of messaging about some settings being redundant and activated by default on the logs, but no errors.

Hi, I am having the same problem. Can you tell me how you added MSI_PCI to the kernel?

You can use the 8-12 version of fglrx with the default kernel from Slackware 12.2 without any modifications to your kernel. 8-12 seems to be the last decent version they put out too.

use the kernel compile guide and under the PCI tab enable MSI_PCI.

Thanks for the prompt reply,
My kernel is 2.6.27.7-smp. I cant find MSI_PCI option, however PCI_MSI is available, is it the same one?

I don't think the MSI_PCI is in 2.6.27.7. I think you might have to bump up to the 2.6.28.* or higher series.
