Kernel 2.6.x is already in slackware 11.0 it's called "huge" it contains a lot of drivers, you might want to do a kernel recompile to get rid of some of that bloat, that is if you are up to it.
It's called "huge26.s" exactly... and after you install your system and choose "huge26.s" when it asks you to choose your kernel go to the "extra" directory and install the "kernel-modules" and "kernel-source" too.
Slackware 11 also has the 2.6.18 kernel which I will be installing. Installation instructions are in the readme.txt on the first install CD of Slackware 11:-)
When you're installing, and you're ready to select what to install... if you choose 'expert', isn't it supposed to give you options as to what kernel to install? The reason I ask is because I only see 2.4.33.3...
Yes, it has been a long time since the last time I installed Slackware...

I haven't installed 11 yet, but, if you type in F2 then F3 after the first install CD finshes booting up you should have a list of kernels that you can boot from: huge and testing

Yes, that I have done... I booted test26.s, that went ok, no problem... My question would be... when the installation is ready to be performed; how do I make sure I install that kernel and not 2.4.33.3? If I choose 'expert' on the install menu I don't see the option to select any other kernel different to 2.4.33.3.
Edit: Ok, I just realized where the kernel selection is made, never mind me.

Glad you got it.
I just finished a clean install of 11.0 using the 2.6.17.13 kernel, I opted for huge instead of 2.6.18. Everything is working well.
Thank you PV for an outstanding OS, you rule!!
