Slackware 10 - no name resolution

Hello,
I installed Slackware 10 last night. My config: DSL Modem => Router => PC.
If I use DHCP, my internet works flawlessly. What I want to do is use a static IP.
Static IP: 192.168.0.3
Router/GW: 192.168.0.1
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
DNS: 207.69.188.185
My resolve.conf has nameserver=192.168.0.1 and nameserver=207.69.188.185

I do not understand why this doesn't work.

With all this set up, using ifconfig and route, I can ping IP's all day long, and in X, I can go to web sites automagically by typing in the IP address, but it will not resolve names.

Can someone help? Please?

Thanks,

David

Does your router has a caching nameserver or a full nameserver running ? If not, remove the 192.168.0.1 line and add for example 207.69.188.186 and 207.69.188.187

Bitte sehr

Thank you very much! That did it. I don't know Dutch, so my German will have to do for now.

I appreciate your help.

Ha

Wouldn't you know it! After I posted my reply, I went to go fold laundry, and I thought "Bitte sehr" isn't right at all! It's been 11 years since I was there, but thanks for your help and your Dutch!
