Slackware 10.2 Raid 1 on Proliant ML110

Hello,

I am currently trying to install Slackware 10.2 on a HP Proliant ML110 with 2 80GB Sata Drives on a ICH7R Raid 1 configuration. When I use the sata.i or test26.s kernels it detects the drives but they show as 2 drives. It shows the following /dev/sda and /dev/sdb. I thought that once the array is built it should show as 1 drive? Have I missed something? Any Help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric

This may be of help:

http://www.intel.com/support/chipset.../cs-020663.htm

I would recommend using linux software raid, as suggested in the article, if the raid volume isn't being shared with other OSes. I followed this guide

http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Software-RAID-HOWTO.html

to setup a raid5 partition for my file server and couldn't be happier with the results.
