Well I've sort of been on the distro see saw for a few months, bouncing back and forth between Slackware, Ubuntu, and Arch. I've installed/configure/played/worked with all of these multiple times. For me, the longer I use Slackware, the more I appreciate its very elegant, simple, yet powerful architecture. With Slackware, I can build a system that is perfect for me. Also Slackware is very performant compared to Ubuntu on my box. However, Ubuntu is a nice distro to get your feet wet in Linux. Slackware, though, is actually teaching me much more about linux.
