Slackware 10.2 on HP/Compaq nc6230
I have tried everything I could think of and have search here and google for some answer, but have yet to find anything. I am trying to install Slack 10.2 on a new HP nc6230 laptop. Everything seems to load fine, but when I reboot after the install, I see the HP bios splash and then all I get is a single blinking cursor when the lilo screen should appear. I did notice some SUSE install instructions on the web, it did mention that you must shut off ACPI kernel boot options when installing. However I could not find any info on how to do that, I would that there is simply a boot option I need to type in ? Or perhaps this is not my problem at all. I have tried to reload approx 10 time using different approaches and I still only get the blinking cursor when I reboot. Any help would be greatly appereciated.
BTW, I am just trying to get a straight and basic install nothing special, I am using the stock bare.i kernel.
