Slackware 10.1 iso

Hi, I am converting to slackware from SuSE 10.0. I have download two ISOs which I am about to burn to CD's. Have I downloaded the right thing?ur
I got the ISOs from linuxiso . org (i386 two disc installation)
I am using a pentium 4 at the moment but will these isos also work on an AMD 64 as I am about to build a new 64 bit computer?

Also can somebody link me to a reliable instalation tutorial?

There is a newer version of Slackware - 10.2, however this 10.1 will also work. There is a great shilo tutorial, read sticky above your post. For native 64 bit support look here: http://www.slamd64.com/.

The first two CDs are all you need. Maybe even just CD1, if like me, you don't use the KDE desktop environment.

Slackware Linux Basics is a more comprehensive tutorial, and that particular link is specific to Slackware Linux 10.2. Or the official book The Revised Slackware Book Project recommended by Slackware.

All Slackware versions up to and including 10.2 (and -current) can run on a computer with a 64-bit processor.

You might also want to read and learn about Slackware's packaging system since it isn't anything like SuSE.

I would recommend to everyone to avoid any possible problems by downloading Slackware directly from Slackware.com. The Slackware "Get Slackware" page also has links to torrents.
