Slackware 10.0 install keyboard recognition problems

Hi. I'm kinda new to this site but not a newbie to linux nor slackware. I downloaded the slackware 10.0 install discs and planned on installing it on a 10GB partition I have left on my laptop. It's an HP Pavillion (ze4400 if it matters). I had installed 8.1 some time ago just to see if it works on the laptop and the installation went by smoothly. On the other hand, 10.0 doesn't seem to recognize the keyboard.

I boot from the disc and boot from the bare.i image. It loads up and everything is fine. When i get the prompt to select a keyboard if mine is not a US one, then i can't enter anything. Slackware doesn't respond to any key stroke. A friend recommended I plug in another US keyboard into the laptop and work with that through the install. Same thing happens. So basically I can't do anything right now, and I really have no idea what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

well i did get it working. i still get this problem sometimes when bootin it up though. but the solution i used is the following.
as the kernel is loading i pressed "caps lock" a lot so i could see the light blinking on and off and figure out where the problem comes up. apparently its when the kernel loads the hotplugs or whatnot. anyways, 9/10 times when i do this thing, the keyboard ends up working. im not sure what the exact problem is but im fine with pressing caps lock like an idiot while it starts up.

I did solve it ...

Just after da BIOS finish boot and the kernel image start booting from da CD start jumping ;-)) on da ENTER , very fast and dont stop until u get on da prompt where u need to type SETUP !

That is it , as simple as that ;-))
