Slackwaer 9.1 GCC Compiling Segmentation Fault

It seems that no matter what I try to compile, a segmentation fault occurs. I'm using GCC. Any thoughts on why this might be happening? I compile when su'd to root - could that be a problem? The segmentation faults occur at different times in the compile too. For example, just a min. ago i tried to compile NetSNMP. doing the
./configure immediately caused a segmentation fault. i tried again. This time, it went through a few lines of code, and it had a segmentation fault. This has happened on the last couple slackware installs (version 9.1). Any thoughts???

Check out this link . It's a pretty good description of the seg fault problem.

Cheers

Thank you very much for your help. I just added RAM a month or so ago, and it is an AMD K6-2 Processor. So it wouldnt suprise me if it is one of those problems. Interestingly enough, Fedora Core 1 installer crashes every time I try to install it on that particular machine. Solaris wont run either. I'm 100% convinced it is a hardware problem now, because I usually swear by slackware's stability.
