slacktrack

Hi folks,

Have anyone tried slacktrack to build tgz packages? Can anyone give me a clue on its usage?
how do slacktrack fires a package build script given a un'tar'-ed source?

I am evaluating on checkinstall and slacktrack.

Quote:

slacktrack and altertrack (Slackware package building utilities)

slacktrack is a script that launches a package build script via the
installwatch library so that the program's contents may be tracked
and turned into a Slackware .tgz package.
slacktrack is written by Stuart Winter but is based on the idea behind
CheckInstall and includes its 'installwatch' module.

This package also contains 'altertrack', a version of slacktrack that
is similar to protopkg and does not use installwatch.

Thanks.

I have never used it so would not be able to help you. Checkinstall is pretty easy to use. If you don't get any assistance here you might post to alt.os.linux.slackware
Mr. Winter is a frequent poster to that newsgroup and would likely answer any questions you might have.
