slackpkg 2.80.2 not showing "currently installed" version of pkg at bottom of console
Slack 64:
Usually, when using pkgtool, when cursoring up/down a list of potential packages to "upgrade", the bottom line of the console shows the current version installed, so you can compare with the version you are about to install. Am I just having a 'thinko', or didn't slackpkg usually do the same thing? If it didn't/doesn't, then it should :) Sasha |
Since slackpkg, much like Slackware, doesnt have a bug tracker, you should probably try contacting its authors.

Sasha,
This box with Slackware64 has slackpkg-2.80.2-noarch-3 and it displays the line at the bottom left of the screen with the installed package. However ... With grissom's patch from the other thread, it does not give me all the pkgs that are available. It does with the original /usr/libexec/slackpkg/core-functions.sh Here's the two screenshots: original slackpkg core-functions.sh grissom's patched core-functions.sh Also, check me if I'm wrong or right ... slackpkg wants to downgrade qt3-3.3.8b-x86_64-opt3 to qt3-3.3.8b-x86_64-opt2 ? I've already upgraded mesa and Firefox: Code:
mingdao@silas64:~$ ls -l /server2/ftp/pub/Linux/Slackware/slackware64-13.0/patches/packages/*.t[x,g]z |

And, the reason I instantly noticed the missing text in the bottom of the console, is because I usually have a lot of packages installed that ARE in the Slackware tree, but that I have upgraded myself to a newer version. Because of this, I look at the text to make sure I'm not "upgrading" one of my own upgraded packages backwards back to the original Slack version of the package. PS - Bruce, those links are dead for me :| Sasha |

slackpkg wants to downgrade qt3-3.3.8b-x86_64-opt3 to qt3-3.3.8b-x86_64-opt2 from /extra/kde3-compat/qt3-3.3.8b-x86_64-opt2.txz when I was testing fonts for "xconfig"; which is why slackpkg wants to make amends. (Alien Bob pointed that out to me.) |
Hi Bruce,
You need to apply my latest "patch" here to get updates in patches/ listed. Sorry for the inconvenience... |
