I'll probably stick with dual socket chinese recycle boards, but a man can dream.

I didn't start the thread. Just answered someone's inquiry about Slackware on Power 9.
I got a build for PowerPC and PowerPC64 that I've been working on as well.
Getting it going on PowerPC64LE was pretty straight forward.

I'm morbidly tempted to try putting Slackware on my SGI O2.

???

Most, if not all, of my hardware is now older than 10 years.

It's almost (not really) like I regret getting rid of all the *nix hardware I had (SUN, HP PARIC, SGI and a couple others).

Anywho, I guess I should share some of my hardware here too (at the very least stuff I have running or plan to put into service fairly soon);

Primary desktop (-current)

* CPU: i7-5820K @3.30GHz
* RAM: 64GB DDR4
* GPU: Radeon R9 390
* SSD: Kingston 120GB (OS-disk)
* HDD: WD Red 1TB (/home)
* Display: ASUS VN247 4x24" in a 2x2 setup

Secondary desktop/testing (-current)

* CPU: Ryzen 1700x
* RAM: 32GB DDR4
* GPU: Radeon RX 560
* SSD: Kingston 120GB (OS-disk)
* HDD: 3xSeagate Barracuda 3TB in raid5 (/data)

Tertiary desktop/testing (-current)

* CPU: i5-4690K @3.50GHz
* RAM: 32GB DDR3
* GPU: Onboard Intel
* SSD: Kingston 120GB (OS-disk) (Yes, I got several on a (Black Friday?) sale some years ago).
* HDD: WD 1TB (/home)

Laptop (-current) (not really used much, usually stashed away, but handy sometimes)
Lenovo something

* CPU: 2core something, can't be bothered to check right now.
* RAM: 12GB RAM (4GB onboard + 8GB)
* HDD: 500GB 2.5" seagate thin

server 1: Slackware 14.1
Old Dell Optiplex 760

* CPU: Intel Q8300 @ 2.50GHz
* RAM: 6GB
* HDD: 160GB (OS-disk)
* HDD: 2x3TB WD Red (raid1)

firewall:
GA-J1900N-D3V

* CPU: Intel Celeron J1900 @ 2.00GHz
* RAM: 8GB
* HDD: 80GB

Ah, yeah.. I *am* aware this is rather total overkill.

server 1 will - at some point when I get around to it - be replaced with a HP MicroServer Gen8.

I do have a couple more machines/servers too that I intend to put into use, but time and motivation, etc...
