Just want to check out my understanding of slackbuilds(cann't get it to work)
Take an example, kssh
1) downloaded the slackbuild as well as the source
kssh-0.7.tar.gz
and kssh.tar.gz.asc , untarred the slackbuild and put everything in /usr/slackbuilds/kssh
I chmoded kssh.SlackBuild
Script started on Sat 05 Jan 2008 01:11:10 PM EET
bash-3.1# pwd
/usr/slackbuilds/kssh
Note I made a copy of the source as .tgz since it may not like .tar.gz
Next, I tried Slackbuild, apparently sucessfully. Do I need to do installpkg then?
At any rate, ./kssh does not work, so I assume it is not installed
A log of my actions follows...

Slackware package maker, version 2.1.
Searching for symbolic links:
usr/share/doc/HTML/en/kssh/common -> /usr/share/doc/HTML/en/common
Making symbolic link creation script:
( cd usr/share/doc/HTML/en/kssh ; rm -rf common )
( cd usr/share/doc/HTML/en/kssh ; ln -sf /usr/share/doc/HTML/en/common common )
It is recommended that you make these lines your new installation script.
Would you like to make this stuff the install script for this package
and remove the symbolic links ([y]es, [n]o)? y
This next step is optional - you can set the directories in your package
to some sane permissions. If any of the directories in your package have
special permissions, then DO NOT reset them here!
Would you like to reset all directory permissions to 755 (drwxr-xr-x) and
directory ownerships to root.root ([y]es, [n]o)? n
Step 4 - Install the Package
Assuming everything happened according to plan (the compile finished without errors), the finished package should be in the directory declared as "OUTPUT" in the SlackBuild script (this defaults to the /tmp directory). Use installpkg to install it; you'll probably want to move it to some other location for safekeeping after it's installed.
