slack9.1 + kernel2.6-test6 problems to get hotplug/alsa to work

I switched to kernel 2.6-test6
but alsa, bttv and ne2k-pci aren't auto loaded on boot

I have to edit modprobe.conf to get the modules loaded on boot.
With kernel 2.4.22 I didn't had to edit modules.conf

What do I have to chance in the init script and rc.* to get the hardware auto detected and the rights modules loaded?

I tried out kernel2.6-test7

alsa was ok, after I compiled in kernel support for it and for my specific sound chip (via)...

I have the same problem with hotplug not running, its probably some option I am not setting in kernel compile, but I dont know what option.

If someone got 2-6 kernel and hotplug working, can you post your config file for the kernel?

i've the same problem ...
i modify /etc/hotplug/hotplug.functions the modules are load but when i launch kfirestarted he can't load the module
the problem is that modprob.conf is not up to date
