Slack64-C Multi-Lib / Samba / OpenOffice
I'm using Slack64-C
When access documents on my Samba server I can only open them with Koffice. When I try to open them with OpenOffice I have no text. I thought that this was just guna be the way life is until I started messing around with Arch64 a few weeks ago and it opens my Samba documents perfectly with OpenOffice. This leads me to think that all I have to do is install the correct fonts on my beloved Slack to get Samba and OpenOffice to play well together. Am I correct in my assumption? If so, what fonts would I need to install? Thanks! |
Hello Slack,
Was this a fresh install for you? The reason I ask is that I use 64 bit also on my laptop. todd |
Yes, this one is.
But I've had the same problem on Slack64-Current pre 13 Slack 12.2 Slamd64 12.2 Bluewhite64 12.2 So it's not something wrong with the distro, it's something I'm not doing right. |
I finally ran across a solution to this.
I installed gigolo and now the text comes up in openoffice documents accessed through samba using pcmanfm & thunar. |
