You can't write in ntfs (it's very dangerous), but only read and copy files from there.
For reiserfs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reiserfs. Read under features, performance, disadvantages. Did you check that you sound card is supported by linux?

1)It belongs from the kernel. Which kernel do you use?
2)You need to recompile the kernel. There are a sticky post how to do it. Everything is clearly explained. You can read xushi's guide too: http://xushi.co.uk/guides/kernel.php

In order to shutdown, as root open the file /etc/rc.d/rc.M with a text editor and uncomment (or add) the lines:

Quote:
# Start APM or ACPI daemon.
# If APM is enabled in the kernel, start apmd:
if [ -e /proc/apm ]; then
if [ -x /usr/sbin/apmd ]; then
echo "Starting APM daemon: /usr/sbin/apmd"
/usr/sbin/apmd
fi
elif [ -x /etc/rc.d/rc.acpid ]; then # otherwise, start acpid:
. /etc/rc.d/rc.acpid start
fi
I think this should solve the powering down problem.
